Salads are served with the main course invariably. But some of the Salads taste so good that we tend to eat it by itself. One such Salad is the Apple and Almond Salad. Fast to make and has a lovely crunchy taste. I used roasted Almonds for this recipe. The apple must be of a sweet variety and should not be soft. Soft apples will affect the crunchy taste which is important in this salad.
Apple – 1 (Cored and cut into small pieces. Do not skin the apple.)
Almonds – 13 to 15
Raisins – 2 tbsp
Dates (Deseeded and chopped) – 8 to 10 pieces
Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
Olive Oil – 1 tsp
Brown Sugar – 2 tsp
Apple Cider Vinegar – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Pepper Powder – ¼ tsp
Chop the Almonds as per your preferences. Dry Roast them. Keep aside.
Take all other ingredients under the “Dressing” column in a small bowl. Mix well. Vinaigrette is ready.
Take the Apple, roasted Almonds, Raisins and Dates in a mixing bowl. Mix them well.
Add the dressing to it. Toss and combine them well.
You don’t need to add all the dressing to the salad. It depends on your preference. You can also increase the quantity of Olive Oil if you like it.
