This is a simple and mouthwatering Pasta dish. The main ingredients are, as the name suggests, Tomato and Fresh Basil. You can make this dish at home in a jiffy. If you are a Pasta lover, try this without fail and you will love it.
Pasta – 1 cup
Olive Oil – 2 tbsp
Garlic – 5 pods (crushed)
Tomatoes – 4 (chopped)
Chilli Flakes – ½ tsp
Salt – to suit one’s taste
Chopped Fresh Basil – 3 tbsp + 1 tbsp
Grated Cheese – 2 tbsp
Black Pepper – ¼ tsp (crushed)
For Garnishing – Cheese Powder (optional) and Basil
Boil Pasta as per direction given in the packet bought by you with enough water. Cook the Pasta 50 percent only. (We will cook again later in the sauce). Drain the water. Preserve ½ to ¾ cups of the drained water for further use later.
Heat Olive Oil in a pan. Add the crushed Garlic and stir for a minute in medium flame.
Add chopped Tomatoes and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the Chilli Flakes, Salt and 3 tbsp of chopped Basil.
Add the half boiled Pasta and ½ to ¾ cups of starchy water which we had preserved. It acts as a thickening agent. Mix well and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
Add a tbsp of grated Cheese, Black Pepper Powder and a tbsp of fresh Basil. Mix and cook for a minute. Transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with Cheese Powder and Basil. Serve hot.
