Cabbage has lot of fiber content. It also has Vitamin C, K and B6. It has anti-cancer properties. All in all, Cabbage is a very healthy vegetable. The recipe is one of the many tasty recipes that can be made with Cabbage as the main ingredient.
Cabbage – 300 Gms (Shredded and finely chopped)
Oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard (Rai) – ½ tsp
Black Gram Lentil (Urad Dal) – 1 tsp
Onion – 1 (sliced)
Green Chilli – 3 (slitted)
Grated Coconut – 2 to 3 tbsp
Curry Leaves – 3 strand
Salt to taste
Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard. When it crackles, add Black Gram. Add Onion, Green Chilli and Curry Leaves. Sauté till Onion becomes translucent.
Add chopped Cabbage and sauté for another 2 to 3 minutes. Add Salt. Sprinkle 1 to 2 tbsp of water. Mix well. Cover with a lid and simmer in low flame for 4 to 5 minutes stirring in between.
Add the Grated Coconut. Mix well. Stir cook for a minute.
