Ingredients:
Pottu Kadalai (Roasted Bengal Gram) – ½ cup
Garlic Pods – 2
Grated Coconut – 2 tbsp
Curry Leaves – from 1 twig
Green Chillies – 1 or 2
Salt to taste
Method:
Take all the ingredients in a small mixer jar.
Blend them for a minute without adding any water first.
Add 1 or 2 tbsp of water and blend it again. If the consistency is too thick, sprinkle some water and grind it into a thick paste.
Serve with Sambar Rice, Curd Rice, Rasam Rice etc.
Note:
Take care while adding water. It needs very, very little water.
This Thuvaiyal can be added to rice with a dash of Ghee and served even to small children. Reduce the quantity of Green Chilli if to be served to children.
