Rawa Toast is a very tasty breakfast recipe which can be prepared with very simple ingredients. Any Bread can be used for this recipe. This Toast can be served as an evening snack also.
Bread Slices – 5
Semolina (Suji Rawa) – ¾ cup
Yogurt (Dahi) – ¾ cup
Bell Pepper (Capsicum) chopped – 2 tbsp
Carrot finely chopped – 2 tbsp
Cilantro (Dhania) Leaves -2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Deseeded Tomato – 2 tbsp (chopped)
Green Chilli – 2 (finely chopped)
Grated Ginger – ¾ tsp
Salt to taste
Butter or oil – 1 ½ to 2 tbsp
Prepare the toppings first as below:
Take Semolina (Rawa) in a mixing bowl. Add Curd (Yogurt) and mix well.
Add little water and mix well again.
Add all other ingredients except the breads slices. Mix and leave to rest for 10 minutes. If the Rawa mix is too thick, add little water and mix well.
Cut the bread slices diagonally.
Arrange the slices on a flat surface. Spread 1 tbsp of the topping on each slice and spread it evenly.
Heat a griddle pan and grease it with butter or oil. Place the Bread Slice on it with the toppings facing down. Cook it in medium flame. Drop a little butter on the sides of the slices. Cook till the toppings turn brown.
Turn the slices upside down and cook the plain side also till it turns golden brown.
Prepare all the bread slices in the same manner.
Serve hot with Ketchup or Green Chutney.
Sides of the bread slices can be trimmed if required.
Vegetables can be added or reduced depending on taste.
Fresh Cream can be used in place of Yogurt (Dahi)
