Rava Toast is a bread toast prepared with semolina and Yogurt batter.
Ingredients for batter:
Semolina / Rava/ Sooji – ½ cup
Curd (Yogurt) – ¼ cup
Chilli Flakes – 2 pinch
Water – ¼ cup
Salt to taste
Onion Medium Sized – 1 (finely chopped)
Tomato (deseeded and finely chopped) – 2 tbsp
Finely Chopped Capsicum – 2 tbsp
Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsp
Bread Slices – 4
Coriander/Cilantro Chutney – 1 to 2 tsp
Take the Rava in a mixing bowl. Add Yogurt, Salt and Chilli Flakes. Mix well.
Add ¼ cup of water to make a batter like a thick Dosa batter.
Add Coriander Leaves, Capsicum, Tomato and Onion.
Mix them well and set aside for 10 minutes.
After 10 mins, mix the batter once again. You will find that the batter has become thick as the Sooji Rava has absorbed the contents to it.
Spread Coriander Chutney on one side of all the bread slices.
Spread the batter above that.
Heat a Tawa. Spread some oil on the hot Tawa. Place the bread with the stuffing side down – touching the Tawa. Press gently with a ladle. Toast it. Spread some more batter on the top side of the slices.
Once the stuffed side is roasted, flip the slices gently and roast the other side till the toast turns golden and crisp.
Cut the toast and serve hot.
The batter must be thick.
