Radish Pod and Potato Curry/ Mogri Aloo Ki Subzi is a simple and easy to make dish. Radish pods are often used in salads, stir fries. This is usually used in salads. But you can also make a curry with it.
Mogri (Radish Pods) – 250 Gms (Wash and cut them into 2 to 3 inch long pieces)
Potato – 2 (Peel and cube them)
Oil – 2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Red Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 pinch
Coriander Seed Powder – 1tsp
Garlic – 5 pods (Crushed)
Large Tomato – 1 (crushed)
Salt to taste
Heat the Oil in a pan. Add Cumin Seeds and allow them to sizzle. Add Asafoetida. Now, add the Potato cubes. Stir them for 2 minutes. Add Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt and Coriander Seed Powder. Stir cook them for few seconds. Add the crushed Garlic and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the crushed Tomatoes. Mix them well and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes in low to medium flame.
Add the chopped Mogri (Radish Pods). Mix well. Add 3 to4 tbsp of water. Mix well again. Cover with a lid and simmer fto 4 to 5 minutes till the vegetables are done.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
Chop the pods into 2 to 3 inch long pieces. The tip would be tough to cut. If the pods are tender, the tip would be hard for about ½ inch and the ripe one would be even inch long. Cut the tips and discard.
