Nungu sherbet is a tasty cool drink for the summer months. It is prepared by blending Nungu with Nannari syrup and served chilled. It is a great alternative to the packed artificial cool drink.
Nungu (Ice Apple) – 8
Nannari Syrup – 3 tbsp
Chia seeds (Subja) – 1 tbsp (soaked in water)
Small Lemon – 1
Salt – pinches
wash and peel off the skin of the Ice Apple. Mash them well. Or blend them in a blender in pulse mode. Add Nannari syrup and the oaked Chia seeds. Add 2 cups of chilled water or as you prefer. stir everything well.
Pour them in serving glasses. Chill them before serving. Garnish the sherbet with crushed Ice Apple and Nannari syrup.
Adding one or two pinches of salt would enhance the taste.
