Mango Payasam is a very delicious sweet dish with Sago. Mango lovers will definitely love this Payasam. This Payasam can be served hot or cold or chilled. It tastes good.
Sweet Mango Pulp – 1 ¼ cup
Sago – 3 tbsp
Milk – 1 cup
Condensed Milk – 3 tbsp
Sugar – 2 to 3 tbsp (adjust to suit taste)
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Cashews – 8
Cardoman Powder – ¼ tsp (optional)
Soak the Sago in warm water for 25 to 30 minutes.
Boil 500 ml of water. Add the soaked Sago. Reduce the flame to medium. Keep boiling till the Sago turns transparent stirring it at regular intervals to avoid the Sago sticking to each other.
Add the Condensed Milk and Milk. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
Add the Mango Pulp. Add Cardoman Powder.
Simmer for 5 to 6 minutes. Add Sugar, if required depending on the sweetness of the Mangoes.
Fry the Cashews in Ghee and add to the Payasam.
You can serve this Payasam (Kheer) hot or cold.
