Summer is the month for tasty Mangoes. The market is flooded with Mangoes of all varieties. And when we need cool drinks in the summer, juices prepared with Mangoes occupy the top of place. Mango Mastani is one such drink popular in the Pune region of Maharashtra. The delicious drink has spread its wings and is now available in almost all the regions in India. It is a very delicious Mango Desert with a scoop of Ice cream on the top and will be liked by all – young and old. The appearance itself of this Mango Mastani, when served, is so tempting that you have to be prepared to give a second serving also. So, be prepared to make more quantity to satisfy everyone.
Chopped Chilled Mangoes – 2 cups (preferably sweet variety without fiber like Alphonso Mangoes)
Vanilla Ice Cream – 1 cup
Chilled Milk – 1 cup
Sugar – 2 ½ tbsp
Mango Chunks – 6 tbsp
Sliced Pistachios, Almonds
Take the ripe Mango Pieces along with Sugar and cold Milk in a blender. Blend it smoothly.
Add Vanilla Ice Cream and blend it to a thick milk shake.
Take 2 tbsp of Mango Pieces in a large serving glass. Pour the prepared milk shake over it till the glass is half or little less than half full. Add some more Mango Pieces. Pour Milk shake over it till the glass is ¾ or little more than ¾ full leaving space for the ice cream scoop.
Top it with a large scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. Garnish with sliced Pistachios and Almonds.
Serve immediately. Ensure that it is chill while serving.
- Adjust quantity of Sugar to suit one’s taste.
- We can also use Cherries and Tutti-frutti for garnishing
- Instead of Mango pieces, add Mango Puree for a change. +
