Every country adopts some or other dish of another country and makes it their own with variations in making the dish. One such dish is the Dosa Toast. It is adopted from the French toast. If you have left over Dosa batter and not enough for making Dosas for everyone, you can use it to make this toast.
Dosa Batter – 1 cup
Bread Slices – 4
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard Seed – ¼ tsp
Curry Leaf from 1 twig
Onion Medium Sized – 1 (finely chopped)
Green Chilli – 2 (finely chopped)
Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil for making toast
Heat a tsp of Oil in a pan. Add Mustard and allow it to crackle. Add Onion, Green Chilli and Curry Leaves.
Sauté them till the Onion becomes translucent.
Take the Dosa Batter in a bowl. Add the Sautéed ingredients (from above) and Coriander Leaves. Mix well. Add little water if required and mix.
Heat a pan. Spread some Oil on it. Dip the Bread Slices in the batter and fry it in the pan.
Fry them till both the sides are cooked well.
Serve hot with Tomato Sauce or Chutney etc.
