Boiled Egg Sandwich is a breakfast recipe which can be prepared with ease. All we need is boiled eggs, green sandwich chutney and bread slices.
Ingredients for Sandwich Chutney
Cilantro (Dhania Leaves) – 1 cup
Pudhina (Mint) Leaves – 2 tbsp
Green Chilli – 2 to 3
Char Masala – ½ tsp
Roasted Cumin (Jeera) Powder – ½ tsp
Lemon Juice – ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Bread Slices – 4
Boiled Egg – 2 (peeled and sliced)
Sandwich Chutney – 1 ½ to 2 tbsp
Ketchup – 1 ½ to 2 tbsp
Pepper Powder – ¼ tsp
Butter – 2 tbsp (optional)
Method to prepare the Chutney:
Take all the ingredients for Sandwich Chutney in a small chutney crusher.
Crush it well. Wipe down all that sticking to the sides of the crusher and crush all again. Add 1 to 2 tbsp of water and crush to a fine paste.
The chutney must be in a semi thick state, not watery.
Method for making the Sandwich:
Arrange the bread slices in a flat surface. Apply butter on the upper sides of the slices. Spread the 1 tbsp each of Sandwich Chutney on 2 slices evenly. Spread Ketchup on the other two slices.
Arrange the Egg Slices on the slices with chutney. Sprinkle Pepper Powder and Salt on the egg slices.
Turn the slices spread with ketchup above the slices with the Egg. Press the Sandwich. Slice the Sandwich into two or four and serve.
The Sandwiches can also be toasted in a Sandwich Toaster after applying butter on the top and bottom of the sandwich.
